Seasons Greetings

I love this sweet little bear image from the Paper Creators store.  It's from a Ultimate Kit called Christmas Post and contains this image, several patterned papers, bows and a tag.

I printed then cut out all the pieces with my rotary paper cutter. Attached them to a 5 X 7 card base. Reduced the size of the bow and cut out with scissors.  I printed the tag using Pica10BT font and cut out with Paper Shapers punches.

I am entering my card in the following challenges

Barkley Thank You Card

Sorry it's been so long since my last post.  It's been a very busy month.  My birthday was last week and after checking my stash, I found I am running low on thank you cards.  This one is for a friend who has a cat and a dog and loves to garden.   I found the image on the Everyday With Barkley CD by Crafter's Companion.  I made all the background papers in Photoshop Elements using some template overlays I found on Flickr.  I cut out all the pieces with my Cameo, adhered to the cardbase, then added the Prima flowers with pearls.

Happy Howlidays Easel Card

This holiday card is for my neighbor.  She has a little 9 pound white dog who is best friends with my mini poodle (who is a white and apricot mix).  I found this darling digi image over at the Crafty Paws website in November 2014.  So glad I saved it as it's the perfect image to use for this card.   I colored the image with Copics, then added gold metallic ink to the bell and puff paint to the trim on the Santa outfit.   (I did make one change to the digi image, I added the horizon line to give it  dimension. ) The Easel card and layers were all cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilies dies.  Added a ribbon and red star button attached with twine.  I'm sure she will smile when she gets this one.

Happy Holidays Snowflake Card

I designed this card in Silhouette Studio DE using a snowflake cut file and a snowflake pattern print file.  Both files are from the Silhouette store.  Also used a scalloped card base cut file from The Cutting Cafe.  I created the inside shapes and filled them with solid blue for the bottom layer and the blue snowflake pattern for the top layer.  Added the saying with the text function to a blue layer then cut out all the pieces with my Cameo.  I also cut out three extra layers of white cardstock the same size as the blue snowflake layer and glued them all together to give the card a bit of dimension without using pop dots.  Added a gemstone to the snowflake center to give it a bit of sparkle.

Prim Poppy

My card was inspired by this card by Heiki. I used the basic design with the image layer and flower, but added a different background by using My Favorite Things Dienamics dies for the scalloped layer and the black stitched rectangle layer.  The script stamp is called long writing background by Hero Arts and the die is called Prim Poppy by Memory Box.  I colored the flower with Memento markers.

Flip Swing Puppy Card for my neighbor

Here's the Christmas version of the flip/swing card I made 2 weeks ago for my neighbor.  This pup looks just like her little white dog.  She plans to send this to her sister for Christmas.  Sorry the photo isn't very good.  I just finished the card and only had a few minutes to snap a pic before I met with her.  I used a Sizzix die for the card base, Spellbinders Nestabilities dies for the squares, Whimsy dies for the photo corners and a Quikutz die for the puppy.

Black shrink plastic
Beads
1 1/4" eye pins
Ear wires
Emory board
Toaster oven
Cardboard
1/8" Hole punch

Tools as shown in photo below

Place dies on shiny side of black shrink plastic and run through die cutting machine.  Punch holes in top.  Sand edges with emory board.  Preheat toaster oven to 275 (Or whatever temperature your brand of shrink plastic lists on the instructions)  Place die cuts shiny side up on cardboard and place in toaster oven.  Bake for 5 or 6 minutes until curling stops and pieces are flat.  Take out of toaster oven and let them cool.  Attach beads on eye pins.  Attach eye pin to ear wires or clip ons.  Attach bottom piece to shrink plastic piece and bend wire to form a loop and press to close.

Flip Swing Puppy Card for my neighbor

My neighbor asked if I could make her a card with a white puppy on it to send to her sister.   Thought it would be fun to make a flip swing card.  Here's a list of the supplies used:  Bazzill and American Crafts cardstock, QuicKutz puppy die (retired) for the main image, Sizzix flip die for the card base, Spellbinders Nestabilities squares for the center layers.  Cut out photo corners with my Silhouette Cameo using a cut file from the Silhouette store.  She loved it and asked if I could make another one with Christmas colors to send for the holidays.

Thank you card for my neighbor

Quick and easy thank you card for my neighbor.  I used cut file #63041 (Field of flowers butterfly card) from the Silhouette store and cut out all pieces with my Cameo.   Black card base is 5 1/2" square.  White and red layers were cut at 5".
(Please note: I changed the original cut file design and only used the white layer panel. I added the 5" red and 5 1/2" X 11" black card base layers.)

Halloween Easel Card

This card is for my neighbor's grandson.  It's a easel style card that combines a free spider web cut file from Bird, a Halloween saying from the Silhouette store and spiders I had in my stash.   I took Bird's basic spider web design and added it to a rectangle easel card base.  Attached the sentiment on Scrapbook Adhesive dimensional dots, then added ribbon and a spider.  Finished off with some tiny 4mm googly eyes.  (Thanks Cely for finding them for me.)

Penny Black Halloween

Yep, it's that time of year again.  Some of my neighbors bring their grandkids over for Halloween for trick or treat so I have several Halloween cards to make.  This one is for my neighbors little granddaughter.  I pulled out some fun Penny Black Halloween clear stamps and combined them with a die called Tri Square from Simon Says Stamp.  I die cut the white square images, then stamped and colored them with Copics. Die cut the squares on the purple layer then inserted the white die cuts.   The pumpkin and frankie are from the PB Trick or Treat set, and the saying is from PB Spooky set.  I also used a corner rounder punch, white gel pen for faux stitching, spider web ribbon, Prima flowers and a black gem stone.  I find it a bit of a challenge to work with small images like these, but I think she will smile when she sees this card.

Butterfly Gatefold Card

This is what my Studio software screen shows as cut size.

Cut out this pretty butterfly gatefold card using a cut file I recently bought at the Silhouette store.  I love how it looks, but I ran into a problem with the sizing.  It shows on my Silhouette Studio software screen that the pink card base is sized to 10" X 5" with the opening in the middle.  The top white panels are sized to 2.5" X 5".  The pink card base cut out at the correct size of 10" X 5", but the white layers cut at 2.5" and approx. 4.9".  I double checked the screen and it clearly shows to cut the white panel at 2.5" X 5".  (See above) I had to cut off the extra bit of pink cardstock with my paper cutter into order for the panels to fit the cardbase.  Other than manually cutting it, I am not sure how to fix this problem as my Cameo has never cut a different size than what it shows on my screen.  I wonder if there's a bug in the last Studio software update.   If anyone knows how to fix this, please post a comment here and let me know...

Butterfly lattice card

I've been feeling a bit under the weather for the last week with a cold bug.  Haven't had the energy to do any crafting until now.  This card was cut out with my Silhouette Cameo using a new studio cutting file I bought at the Silhouette store.  Other supplies that I used are Bazzill blue and GP white cardstock, pearls and twine.  Changed the design so the blue layer is sized at 4.75" and cut out two butterflies.  Mounted the butterflies at a angle then folded the wings up on the top layer to give it a little more dimension.
