Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.  My hubby gave me the House Mouse digi collection from Joanna Sheen for Christmas.  It has 3 CD's filled with colored and black/white HM digis.  It's lots of fun to work with.  I am running low on birthday cards so I picked this adorable birthday digi to make my card.  Cut out the card base with a svg file from The Cutting CafĂ© using my Silhouette Cameo.  Cut out the house mouse image with my new Nestabilities die set (another gift from hubby).  Also used bakers twine and Snips and Snails paper from Doodlebug.

Hello card

Sorry I have been posting lately.  I caught a cold and it took a couple of weeks to get over it and get my energy back.

I decided to make a card for some of the challenges and dug out some of my older stamps that have been neglected.  Pulled out this retired set called Looks Like Spring from Stampin Up.   The challenge at Paper Crafting Journey this week is to pick a card and case it, so I picked this card by scrapnextras on the SCS website.  I didn't have some of the SU stamps she used, so I substituted a Hero Arts flourish and TAC saying stamp.  Added a pearl and a different ribbon, but otherwise it is a fairly close case of her card.

Challenges:

Paper Crafting Journey - Case a card
Simon Says - Keep it clean and simple
Bearly Mine Challenge #111 - Anything goes
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge - Monochromatic

Trying something new with my Silhouette cut files

I purchased this pretty floral cut file (#25154) from the Silhouette store a few months ago.  When I opened the cut file with my Studio software today, I decided I would have to cut it at a really large size due to all the tiny petals.  So instead of using it as a cut file, I converted it to a printed image using this tutorial from the Silhouette blog.  Then I aligned  the printed image inside a pretty frame embossing folder called Cabaret from Couture Creations.  Trimmed the edges, then machine stitched to a medium blue layer.  Adhered some foam tape to the back of the medium blue layer and attached that to the navy blue cardstock base.  Cut a butterfly with my Silhouette and attached with foam tape on top of the flowers.  Added tiny pearls to flowers and butterfly.  Used a glue dot to attached bow.

Happy Birthday

I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and try to make something for the Simon Says "Use A Arrow" Challenge.  This was a difficult challenge for me as I am not into scrapbooking, so I am not used to doing these types of layouts.  But I gave it a go just to see if I could do something with the arrow theme.  I picked two cutting files from the Silhouette store - Arrow Happy Birthday and the Balloons.  Designer paper is called Mabel by Stella Rose.  Added some lace and buttons to complete my project.

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day easel style card I made for a friend using this sweet little boy I found

I Ruff You

For this week's Cutting Cafe design team project, I was able to pick from any of the cute Valentines sets in the store.  I decided to make a card for my hubby.  I picked this fun printable stamp set from The Cutting Cafe called Animal and Bug Mini Colored Circle Set.  He is crazy about dogs so I'm sure he will smile when he sees this one.

 Here's a list of supplies I used:
The Cutting Cafe:
Nestabilities dies, circle punch, border punch, Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Lace, ribbon, heart button, jute twine, needle & thread to gather lace, pop dots, glue dots
Cardstock - Kraft, Red and White.
